ACS 2011 Fall, Denver, CO

ACS Meetings organizes two of the most respected scientific meetings in the world. Our National Meetings offer scientific professionals a legitimate platform to present, publish, discuss and exhibit the most exciting research discoveries and technologies in chemistry and its related disciplines. Furthermore, ACS national meetings facilitate networking opportunities, career development and placement, and provide companies an opportunity to exhibit products and services to a targeted audience.

Although the 242nd ACS National Meeting began with the looming threat of Hurricane Irene on the east cost, her developments reinforced the relevance and timeliness of the theme, Chemistry of Air, Space & Water.  More than 10,000 attendees participated in technical sessions, social events, presidential events, the exposition and career fair. The highlighted Plenary and Kavli presentations, which supported the theme by addressing climate change, extreme environments and aerosol properties, were big hits drawing audiences of approximately 400 and 1,000, respectively. This meeting was the second and final meeting held during the International Year of Chemistry.
